Ecommerce Project Hero

Location: Remote
Position type: Contractor with possibility of full-time
Language: English (fluent, first language preferable)
Remuneration: Subject to skill level and experience of applicant

The project hero role at ShopCreatify is a senior position best suited to an individual with solid skills and experience in their craft of ecommerce design and development as well as being able to manage a team well.

You'll need to be able to interpret ecommerce merchants needs & desires and translate them into well executed solutions alongside your project manager and design & dev team.

You'll be liaising directly with clients, project managers and team members and taking responsibility for the successful outcome of ecommerce design and development projects you're heading up.

We're all very hands on in ShopCreatify so although you will need to be good at delegation, we're looking for more than just an instruction giver. If a piece of UI needs to be designed or some code needs to be written, we need to know that you're at least able to do this and do it well.

You'll need to know your way around the various technologies in the Shopify stack as well as able to speak with confidence to a merchant about why something is the way it is, or what should or shouldn’t be done on a storefront.

You will be supported in your role with a structured approach, best-of-breed software and a professional and friendly team.

Skills required:

  • Strong communication skills - This is a requirement on all roles at ShopCreatify, but especially so for this one. To be a good cultural fit in ShopCreatify, you will need to be crystal clear in your communication with other team members and clients.
  • Self organized and conscientious - You will have to be able to say no to people when that is the answer they need. You will need to be good at managing your own time and communicating the status of projects with all stakeholders as and when required.
  • Shopify working knowledge - You're familiar with the Shopify platform and understand how stores are built, how the ecosystem works and how it can be extended, its limitations etc.
  • UI/UX design - You consider yourself to have reached a senior level as a designer and can confidently produce or oversee the production of industry standard assets for a successful web project.
  • HTML & CSS - You're up to speed with the current methods of putting together a web page and have probably been doing so for years. If you're a little uncertain about markup and styling on the web, this is unlikely a good role for you.
  • JavaScript - The stronger your skills in this ubiquitous language the better for your application.

Advantageous:

  • Project management - If you have experience working in a PM capacity, specifically in an agile environment, this would greatly strengthen your application.
  • Development - If you have skills in other frontend and or backend languages or frameworks like Ruby, React, Vue.js etc. this will be of benefit to your role with us, but not imperative.

Web Content Designer

Location: Remote
Position type: Contractor with possibility of full-time
Language: English (fluent, first language preferable)
Remuneration: Subject to skill level and experience of applicant

This is a role for someone that considers themselves to be able to communicate visually through good use of image selection and a reasonably solid grasp of design fundamentals.

You'll need to be able to take these visuals you created (in Figma) and implement them onto a web page that is already using a CMS (Shopify). An understanding of Shopify will help your chances, but it's not mandatory.

The more you're able to do over and above what is mentioned here will only serve to expose more opportunity to you within the company.

Skills required:

  • Strong communication skills - To be a good cultural fit in ShopCreatify, you will need to be crystal clear in your communication with other team members and clients.
  • UI design - You consider yourself to have at least an intermediate level of skill and working knowledge in UI design and be familiar with Figma or a related tool.
  • HTML & CSS - You're comfortable getting stuck into some code and content management type tasks / basic styling is within your comfort zone.

Advantageous:

  • JavaScript - Any level of JavaScript knowledge will place you higher as a candidate for this role, even if just a basic understanding of the language and how it works.
  • Writing - If you have an interest in writing compelling and readable web copy, it is closely related to this role and could strengthen your application.

Admin Assistant

Location: Remote
Position type: Contractor with possibility of full-time
Language: English (fluent, first language preferable)
Remuneration: Subject to skill level and experience of applicant

If you're hyper organized, familiar with the Google Workspace suite of wares (Docs, Sheets, Drive, Calendar etc.) then you're most of the way there in terms of being qualified for this role.

You'd be working under two people who fit the above description and then some.

Skills required:

  • Strong communication skills - To be a good cultural fit in ShopCreatify, you will need to be crystal clear in your communication with other team members and clients.
  • Types fast - If you don't regularly have smoke rising from your keyboard, that's not fast enough. Jokes aside, there is a notary component to this role which will require you to be very good at taking minutes.
  • Super organized - You'll be working with some best of breed software like Asana, Harvest and the Google Worskpace suite. As powerful as they are, they require taming and there is always a garbage in, garbage out aspect to using them. We need someone meticulous in their approach to help keep our operation running smoothly.

Advantageous:

  • Project management - If you have skills or an interest in PM, the people you'll be working with the most will likely welcome you with open arms as like-minded kindred spirits. If you're familiar with Agile software development, even better.
  • Spreadsheet formula witchcraft - This dark art is much sought after in business. If you're able to hubble bubble, boil and trouble your way into amazing calculations, do let us know.
